Army Veterinary Corps Celebrates 108th Birthday at MWDT National Monument

June 3, 2024 marked the 108th anniversary of the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps. The Veterinary Corps conducts and oversees all Department of Defense veterinary service activities. A small celebration was held on base at Joint Base San Antonio – Lackland by the Military Working Dog Teams National Monument.

COL Mont, PHC-W commander and 64A Consultant to the Army Surgeon General, served as the keynote speaker and presented on the significance of the MWD monument. Two former Veterinary Corps Chiefs, Brigadier General (Ret) Poppe and Torring participated in the cutting of the cake alongside most junior officer CPT Kucera.
