Retiree Appreciation Day Celebrated at Wilford Hall
The Airman Heritage Foundation participated at Retiree Appreciation Day at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center this past March. Hundreds of veterans turned out for the event. AHF volunteers were able to engage with many of the attendees who stopped by to take in the U.S. Air Force history that was showcased.
- Danny Sanchez, AHF Vice President, (L) along with Leroy Rodgers helped out manning the booth.
- Dave Shultz (L), AHF Outreach Manager, alongside his wife Sonya, and Hilda Rodgers (R) comprise the rest of the on-site AHF team.
- WAF field jacket donated by CMSgt. (ret.) Bonnie Cooper.
- Two of the spotlighted uniforms include a faithful recreation of SSgt. Pitsenbarger’s uniform (MoH recipient) and a 1960’s WAF uniform donated by veteran CMSgt. (ret.) Sheri Gaskill.
- The exhibit featured several static displays of USAF uniforms and artifacts much to the delight many of the veterans who donned them back in the day.
